Pandora was updated today so I thought I should update the Pandora transparent widget as well. This update from Pandora finally brings the lock screen controls that we have been waiting for. And of course I have also already done my part of modifying the apk file and creating an install-able Pandora transparent widget.
Both me and XDA agree that the non Transparent Pandora widget looks a bit ugly. So I decided to make a Transparent Pandora widget. lately I’ve been messing up with my Motorola ATRIX 4G and like any new Android smartphone owner (especially those of us who are still using Android Gingerbread 2.3) It is always a concern when our fellow friends that own fancy iPhones make fun of our OS’s interface :). That being said though, one of Android’s most powerful advantages is the desktop sort of speak. Or to be more accurate, the launchers. Having the ability to have all your apps WITH their valuable data right on your main screen is a big deal in usability and accessibility. Unlike the regular iPhone interface where you will just have racks of icons spread everywhere, and when it’s really awesome you’ll have a little number showing the notifications count of such an app. Android’s main interface gives you full pieces of information AND also you can control them. That ranges from having Calenders, emails, one-click phone calls for your most contacted friends and family members, and much much more. Of course, everyone uses their phones for music now a days. And Pandora is by far the most popular app in the music area for both Android and iOS. But man, that non Transparent Pandora widget is always ruining my fancy interface. Showing that big black block that hides my wallpaper. So I decided to do some little tweaking and modifications to fix that. I was actually just using it but when my friends saw that on my phone they really loved it so I decided to poste it on XDA. I just put that random topic to share it with the community. But apparently people on XDA really liked the Transparent Pandora widget and thought it deserves to go on the front page 🙂
